# Benchmark results for DNN CPU and Vulkan

I ran the perf tests for DNN on my laptop and the results show not to use Vulkan.

My plan was to use Vulkan but this data reveals that plan is not viable. I’ve seen similar discouraging results on another platform. I wanted to share this before someone else makes the same plan that I did.  
The results are from the DNN Perf module out of the box after I compiled OpenCV 4.5.5 from source.

The existing Vulkan backend has only completed preliminary functions and lacks a lot of speed optimization. I am trying to further improve the Vulkan backend and will be able to submit code in the near future.
