Two days into trying every combination of steps I can muster. I am attempting to build OpenCV 4.9 in Windows to include Gstreamer functionality. I set WITH\_GSTREAMER ```none Selecting Windows SDK version 10.0.22621.0 to target Windows 10.0.19045. ocv_init_download: OpenCV source tree is not fetched as git repository. 3rdparty resources will be downloaded from github.com by default. I run the OpenCV.sls in Visual Studio 2022. Build exits no errors. Install churns and exits no errors. I have an OpenCV\_DIR in PATH. But after I build Install and launch Python import cv2 returns module not found. you’ll notice that the OpenCV in your Python is an entirely different one. it’s the official package, not your own build. ---

Thanks for the reply. This is a major part of my issue. When I build ‘Install’ in VS and then attempt to import cv2 in Python the module isn’t installed. What steps should I take to get VS to install the Opencv which I built? I’m a noob. Have mercy. L ---

I went back to the beginning. I uninstalled every Python version including all dir structures. I reinstalled Python 3.12. Numpy 1.26, did Cmake again from scratch. I cleaned all PATH variables and still no change. I have tried to uninstall Python 64 bit and replace with 32 bit binaries. I’ve tried installing with and w/o admin privileges. Ive moved the location of the build directory from a /user/… to c:.… I tried to install on a different computer. All the same outcome. Missing dll My machine is 64 bit Windows 10 uptodate with c++ redirect, media files, etc… This is extraordinarily frustrating. Please advise. Tia, L ---

I would guess that you are at the very least missing the gstreamer dll so you would need to add that ```auto import os os.add_dll_directory("PATH_TO_GSTREAMER_BIN") import cv2 ``` ---
