Hi, I’m facing an issue with the ArUco marker position estimation. For no apparent reason, the estimated position keeps oscillating, even when the marker’s border is practically stable. What could be causing this fluctuation? Here’s a video showing the oscillation.
that ambiguity is unavoidable. the laws of nature make it so. I’m saying that so you won’t try to ask if there isn’t anything that could somehow make it possible. it’s impossible.
imagine the unit circle. the marker is a diameter through it. the size of its projection is the cosine of its angle. you see its projection. if that changes in size even by a little, while it’s facing you, then the arccos
fluctuates wildly. can you see why that is so?
the only solution is to have markers not face you head-on.
the resolution in that video isn’t great. if you had better resolution, the situation would not be as bad. better resolution cannot fix the problem, only make it less bad.
