My name is Jay Pol, and I am a student/developer with skills in C++, Python, and C.
I recently built OpenCV from source and started exploring the codebase.
My main interest is in contributing to the C++ core and also exploring Python bindings.
I plan to begin with small contributions like fixing bugs, improving documentation, or adding unit tests, and then move towards bigger tasks.
My long-term goal is to participate in Google Summer of Code 2026 with OpenCV.
I would appreciate your guidance on:
- Beginner-friendly issues or areas to explore
- Best practices for submitting contributions
- How new contributors can engage with maintainers effectively
