Label detection

At my work we are applying labels to plastic bottles ( automated via a machine ). We want to do 2 things.

  1. Check that the label is on the bottle straight. Tricky thing there is that we have loads of different labels, so it should work for each.

  2. Check for a barcode and then extract the barcode and send it to an api.

Thanks for any advice / suggestion on if and how this can be achieved.

best go talk to a company that offers automated optical inspection, or “Machine Vision”, solutions.

you won’t have to program anything.

Yes we could but we like to do as much as we can in house. Helps us to develop new skills and become independent from other companies. So when something breaks we can fix it right away instead of waiting for an engineer to come.
