WSL - webcam USB : Can not open camera by index

I successful connect my Usb camerawith my Wsl2, but can not open the camera

(venv) root@PC00070:~/Face_recognition_with_Flask# lsusb

when I try to run my program:

it shows

WSL/WSL2 support for webcams is known to not work or be under development.

please check with ffmpeg or other program that can query your container’s video devices.

your listing does not show any cameras.

Logitech, Inc. Mic (Notebooks Pro) is my camera. I’ve attached it with wsl2 by using usbipd

please check with ffmpeg or other program that can query your container’s video devices.

this is relevant to determine if the issue is with OpenCV or with your system. please comply.

I’ve used v4l-utils to query my container’s video devices

v4l2-ctl --list-devices
Failed to open /dev/video0: No such file or directory

ls /dev/video0
ls: cannot access '/dev/video0': No such file or directory

I tried to search for solutions for this issue almost forum but it seems did not help much. My wsl has connected with webcam USB but not working

well then, you don’t have any video device in your container.

that’s an issue that happens before OpenCV, so it’s not an OpenCV issue.

asking about this here is pointless. you did some USB/IP thing, right? apparently it didn’t work. talk to those people.

also, alsa is audio, but you want video. directshow is windows, but you have a linux container. you should query “V4L” or “V4L2”.

it works for most people, for me it doesn’t work and I guess it’s because of the webcam drivers.
